Apotheosis
That strange sword you found in a dungeon might be more useful than it looks. Even if you never equip it, you can break it down into materials and use them to improve something you actually want to keep.
Apotheosis adds affix equipment, socketable gems, equipment reforging, and World Tiers. Its companion mods, Apothic Enchanting and Apothic Spawners, expand enchanting and spawner modification.
Getting started
- Obtain affix equipment and gems from loot chests and mob drops.
- Crush unwanted gems beneath a falling anvil to obtain Gem Dust.
- Craft a Salvaging Table and salvage affix equipment into Rarity Materials.
- Craft a Simple Reforging Table to apply or reroll affixes on eligible equipment.
- Insert compatible gems into empty sockets.
- Complete World Tier unlock requirements to access higher-tier progression.
Use JEI for recipes and item uses in this pack.
Chronicle of Shadows
The Chronicle of Shadows is the in-game guidebook. Its standard recipe uses a book and a gold ingot. It explains equipment modifiers, workstations, gems, and other Apotheosis systems.
Affix equipment
Affixes are extra modifiers on equipment, separate from enchantments. They can change attributes or add special effects. An item's rarity influences the modifiers it can receive.
Affix equipment appears in loot chests and mob drops. Available loot depends on World Tier.
| System | Function | How it is changed |
|---|---|---|
| Affixes | Additional equipment modifiers | Reforging and augmenting |
| Enchantments | Effects such as Protection and Sharpness | Enchanting and enchanted books |
| Gems | Bonuses attached to equipment sockets | Socketing and gem upgrades |
A piece of equipment can use all three systems.
Salvaging
The Salvaging Table breaks down affix equipment into Rarity Materials used by Apotheosis workstations.
Gem Dust
Crush gems beneath a falling anvil to obtain the initial Gem Dust needed for progression. After crafting the Salvaging Table, gems can also be processed there for dust.
Salvaging consumes the input item.
Reforging
Reforging applies or rerolls affixes on eligible equipment.
| Workstation | Function |
|---|---|
| Simple Reforging Table | Reforges equipment up to Rare rarity |
| Reforging Table | Supports higher rarities |
To reforge an item:
- Place eligible equipment in the table.
- Supply the Rarity Materials, Sigils of Rebirth, and experience shown in the interface.
- Select and confirm the result.
Reforging replaces the affix roll rather than adding another modifier to the existing roll.
Gems and sockets
Sockets hold gems that add equipment bonuses. A gem's effect can differ between equipment categories; its tooltip lists the applicable bonuses.
To insert a gem into an empty socket:
- Use a Smithing Table; or
- Pick up the gem on the inventory cursor and right-click the equipment.
The equipment tooltip displays the socketed gem and its effect.
Socket tools
| Item | Function |
|---|---|
| Sigil of Socketing | Adds a socket to eligible equipment, subject to socket limits |
| Sigil of Withdrawal | Removes socketed gems |
Socketed gems cannot be removed by dragging them out of the item.
Gem Cutting Table
The Gem Cutting Table upgrades gem purity. Recipes require matching gems and additional materials, as shown in the interface.
World Tiers
World Tiers control Apotheosis difficulty and loot progression. Higher tiers increase enemy strength and improve available rewards.
Open the World Tier selection screen with its keybinding. The default is Ctrl + T. The binding can be changed in Controls.
| Tier | Progression |
|---|---|
| Haven | Starting tier |
| Frontier | First increase in difficulty and loot |
| Ascent | Further progression |
| Summit | Later tier with unlock requirements that include defeating the Wither |
| Pinnacle | Highest tier and best source of Mythic equipment |
The selection screen lists the requirements for unlocking each tier.
Apothic Invaders
Apothic Invaders appear from Frontier onward. A sound and beam of light mark their arrival.
Invaders have empowered stats and equipment. Defeating an Invader guarantees its affix item alongside additional rewards. Other empowered enemies, including Apothic Elites, can also provide additional loot.
Augmenting
The Augmenting Table upgrades or rerolls individual affixes instead of replacing the entire affix roll.
Augmenting uses Sigils of Enhancement and experience. The interface displays the available operations and their costs.
Apothic Enchanting
Apothic Enchanting changes the Enchanting Table and adds specialised bookshelves and enchantment storage.
Apothic Enchanting is such an indepth mod with so many different features. We've made a seperate page here for tips and tricks, and ideal enchantment setups.
Enchanting stats
| Stat | Function |
|---|---|
| Eterna | Determines enchanting strength and access to higher-level enchanting |
| Quanta | Adds randomness to effective enchanting power |
| Arcana | Improves access to rarer enchantments and increases the number received |
Place bookshelves around the Enchanting Table to change these stats. Specialised shelves provide different combinations of bonuses. Shelf tooltips and the table interface display their effects.
Higher Quanta means more variation, not a guaranteed improvement.
Enchantment Library
The Enchantment Library stores enchantments from enchanted books and lets them be extracted into books for use elsewhere.
It stores enchantments already obtained; it does not generate them.
Apothic Spawners
Apothic Spawners allows spawners to be collected with Silk Touch and modified using items.
- Collect a spawner with a suitable Silk Touch tool.
- Place it where required.
- Find spawner modifier recipes in JEI or the Chronicle of Shadows.
- Right-click the spawner with the required items to apply a modifier.
Some modifiers require items in both hands. Modifiable properties include minimum and maximum spawn delay. Each modifier has application limits.
