Powah!
Powah generates, stores, and transfers Forge Energy (FE). Its Energizing Orb converts materials into components used to craft higher-tier generators, cables, storage, and charging equipment.
Getting started
- Craft Dielectric Paste and the dielectric components required by the first machines.
- Craft a Starter or Basic generator.
- Connect the generator to Energy Cables.
- Craft an Energizing Orb and at least one Energizing Rod.
- Supply FE to the rod, then insert a recipe's ingredients into the orb.
- Use the energized materials to craft higher-tier equipment.
Use JEI for the pack's exact ingredients, output quantities, and energizing costs. The Powah Manual provides additional in-game documentation.
Tiers and progression
Most Powah equipment follows this tier order:
Starter → Basic → Hardened → Blazing → Niotic → Spirited → Nitro| Tier | Main progression material |
|---|---|
| Starter | Dielectric components and basic materials |
| Basic | Dielectric components and basic materials |
| Hardened | Energized Steel |
| Blazing | Blazing Crystal |
| Niotic | Niotic Crystal |
| Spirited | Spirited Crystal |
| Nitro | Nitro Crystal |
Higher tiers increase the relevant machine's generation, storage, transfer, or energizing capacity. Many machines have upgrade recipes that use the previous tier; check JEI before crafting another machine from scratch.
The orb itself does not need to be replaced at each tier. Energizing Rods, the FE supply, and transfer infrastructure determine how quickly it can process recipes.
Energizing Orb and Energizing Rods
The Energizing Orb holds ingredients. Energizing Rods supply the energy required to convert those ingredients into the recipe output.
Power the rods, not the orb.

Recipe outputBuilding the first setup
- Place an Energizing Orb.
- Place an Energizing Rod nearby and connect it to an FE supply.
- Keep the rod within the orb's working range; place it close for the initial setup.
- Insert exactly one recipe's ingredients into the orb.
- Supply the required total energy.
- Remove the finished output.
Multiple rods can serve an orb. Higher-tier rods and additional rods increase potential throughput, provided the generator and cables can supply enough FE.
Normal energizing materials
| Material | Input family |
|---|---|
| Energized Steel | Iron and gold |
| Blazing Crystal | Blaze materials |
| Niotic Crystal | Diamond |
| Spirited Crystal | Emerald |
| Nitro Crystal | Nether Star, Redstone Blocks, and a Blazing Crystal Block |
Use the individual JEI recipe for exact counts, accepted alternatives, and output quantities. Recipes can produce more than one item.
Custom bulk energizing recipes
Brass, Bloom & Beyond provides block-based alternatives to the individual-material recipes.
| Bulk input | Output |
|---|---|
| Blaze Rod Block from AllTheCompressed | Blazing Block |
| Iron Block + Gold Block | Energized Steel Block |
| Diamond Block | Niotic Block |
| Emerald Block | Spirited Block |
Nitro has no custom bulk option. Use the normal Nitro energizing recipe.
These are Energizing Orb recipes, not ordinary crafting-grid conversions. The block ingredients go into the orb and require energy from the rods.
Generation options
Powah provides five main generator families. Their output depends on tier, operating conditions, and pack configuration.
| Generator | Input or condition | Main distinction |
|---|---|---|
| Furnator | Solid furnace fuels | Converts items such as coal or wood into FE |
| Magmator | Hot fluid such as lava | Consumes a fluid fuel supply |
| Thermo Generator | Heat source beneath it and a coolant supply | Uses the heat source rather than consuming it as Magmator fuel |
| Solar Panel | Suitable sunlight and sky access | Output depends on environmental conditions |
| Reactor | Uraninite and supporting resources | Multiblock generation with resource and cooling management |
Use the machine interface, Manual, and relevant JEI information for actual output and accepted inputs. Fixed FE/t figures from another pack may not match this pack.
Furnator
Insert a supported furnace fuel and connect an energy output. A Furnator needs no liquid supply or multiblock structure.
Automating it requires item delivery and sufficient FE extraction capacity.
Magmator
Supply a supported hot fluid and extract the generated FE. Lava is the standard fuel example.
A Magmator consumes the fluid in its tank. Placing a lava source nearby is not a substitute for filling the machine.
Thermo Generator
Place the Thermo Generator above an accepted heat source and supply coolant, such as water.

[Thermo Generator] → FE output
[ Heat source ]The heat source and coolant affect operation. Check accepted heat sources in the installed version rather than assuming every hot-looking block works.
This is different from a Magmator: a Thermo Generator uses a block or fluid beneath it as a heat source, while a Magmator consumes hot fluid from its internal tank.
Solar Panel
Place the panel with sky access and connect its output.
Energy Cells can buffer production for periods when solar generation is unavailable. Storage only covers the energy already accumulated; it does not increase the panel's generation rate.
Reactor
Powah's Reactor is a 3×4×3 multiblock assembled from 36 Reactor blocks of the same tier.
Assembly
- Craft 36 matching Reactor blocks.
- Hold the blocks and place one in an unobstructed 3×4×3 build area.
- Allow the structure to assemble.
- Open the controller interface.
- Supply fuel, cooling, and optional supporting materials.
- Connect the energy output.
Reactor inputs
| Resource | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Uraninite | Reactor fuel |
| Liquid coolant, such as water | Cooling supply |
| Solid coolant, such as Dry Ice | Additional cooling support |
| Carbon material, such as coal | Supporting resource affecting reactor operation |
| Redstone | Supporting resource affecting reactor operation |
The interface shows the reactor's current resource levels and operating state. A supplied fuel slot alone does not establish that it is operating at its full potential.
Dry Ice is associated with the energizing system as well as reactor cooling. Look up its production recipe in JEI when automating coolant supply.

Energy storage and transfer
Energy Cables
Energy Cables move FE between generators, storage, and consumers.
Cable transfer capacity can limit a system even when the generator and consumer support higher rates. Check the cable tier as well as the connected machines.
Energy Cells
Energy Cells store FE for later use.
Generator → Energy Cell → Cable network → MachinesA buffer can sustain a short energizing operation at a rate above current generation, provided its stored energy and output rate are sufficient. It cannot sustain that deficit indefinitely.
Diagnose the limiting rate
Energizing throughput can be limited by any stage:

Recipe's total energy requirementUpgrading rods has little effect if their energy buffers remain empty. Adding generation has little effect if an undersized connection prevents that energy reaching the rods.
Wireless energy
Powah's Ender Network uses channels to share stored energy.
| Block | Function |
|---|---|
| Ender Cell | Provides access to an owner's network channel and manages its storage capacity |
| Ender Gate | Connects adjacent equipment to a selected network channel |
